Practice Range Update

   We have installed new arrow holders in practice area of the range. This makes shooting a lot more convenient and relaxing. Our last schedualed shoot is in September, then we will start build new permanent targets in the same area. We hope you enjoy.

Archery Shoots

   Here is the schedule for the Necedah Bowhunters Club archery shoots in LaVergne, TN for the 2013 season out at the Poole Knobs Archery Range. Is sponsored in part by Wetland Outfitters and Bone Crusher Game Calls. First event is March 16th. Food, prizes and fun. Come join us.

Upcoming News for the Archery Range

   The 2013 season for the Poole Knobs Archery Range is fast approaching. With in a week, we should have more information about what is in store for this season.

   Shooters and bow hunters will enjoy the new stand in the woods that was built by the Boy Scouts. We had 3 people in it and still had plenty of room. Looks like we will have a least 2 targets to shoot out of this stand.

   We still have several plans for the range and are in need of treated lumber of all sorts. Donations or any one that can help with this, please do. We have plenty of volunteers for the labor, we just need the support.

Boy Scouts Project

Boy Scouts Project

   A week ago, one of the troops approach me and asked to do a special project on the archery range so that he may earn his eagle. He is responsible for heading up the project and making sure it is done in a timely manner so that he may earn the highest level in his troop. The job should be completed by the weekend of October 20th. We will have many more renovations over the next year for others needing the same project.

   The troops goal is to build a 10 foot platform (tree stand) that will accommodate two people at once. The platform is a 5X8 area and is held up by five 6X6 post with steps leading off the back side.

   As many hunters already know, the Poole Knobs Archery Range is under major renovation. Here, we will post a few pictures of progress we have made. Our facebook page at TNHunting is loaded with updates and pics. This is a project that will take months to complete, so please be patient and enjoy deer season and send us your hunting pics.
